I would say that the tape3590-2.4.7-s390-timer.tar.gz file is the one you
want. It looks as though you're going to need to do an "insmod -f" on it,
since the version name does not quite match what SUSE named their kernel
(2.4.7-timer versus 2.4.7-timer-SMP).

Subject: tape3590 SLES7

Hello,

I need to address my 3590 drive.

I downloaded the: tape3590-2.4.7-s390-timer.tar.gz or
tape3590-2.4.7-s390.tar.gz from OCO with no-success.

Does anybody know where I can found the correct tape3590 module for my
SLES7 version with timer patch applied ?

Here's the error I get:

linsvg:/lib/modules/2.4.7-timer-SMP/kernel/drivers/s390/char # modprobe
tape390 tape=181

/lib/modules/2.4.7-timer-SMP/kernel/drivers/s390/char/tape390.o:
kernel-module version mismatch

/lib/modules/2.4.7-timer-SMP/kernel/drivers/s390/char/tape390.o was
compiled for kernel version 2.4.7

while this kernel is version 2.4.7-timer-SMP.

TIA
