If it were me, I'd bypass the GUI, and do rpm commands via the command line.

I'm using VNC client to connect and run the KDE desktop. After selecting the (very Windows like) "Add/Remove Applications" icon, I get the panel "Package Mangement", "Add or Remove Packages". Without stopping the application then open a second window, "Checking system package status", which further says "The package manager program is searching your system to determine which packages are currently installed." So far, so good, I guess. But again, without stopping, the application then opens a third window "untitled", "Installation Tree Not Found.", which further says "The path /install/rhelas30/zseries/cd1 does not look like a valid installation source." But, in fact, this -is- where the first CD is located. I can see each of the items in this directory in Konqueror (for example). How do I get around this? William P.
