After using YaST this is what my nsswitch.conf looked like:

passwd: files ldap
shadow: files [NOTFOUND=continue] ldap
group: files ldap
I know that I had modified the same files you mentioned in your E-mail. I
wonder if it has something to do with my rebuild of pam_ldap. I went to
padl.com and obtained a current copy of pam_ldap to address issues with
shadowLastChange.
