Hey Folks,
I have an interesting little problem with syslogd running as a network log
server under RHEL3AS on the z800. Once configured to receive messages it
seems to be very confused about the address that the message originates
from. All log entries from remote hosts are logged with "???" as the host
name for the machine logging the event. I've verified that the log server
and logging host can resolve names in reverse from DNS and even tried the -x
argument with syslogd to bypass resolution but still getting "???" as the
host name. I also verified my settings in an Intel Linux farm and all is
good, works fine. This is running in a z800 IFL on Virtual hipersockets with
VM4.30.

Anyone else seen this?

Steve
