My reaction would be, no, why would you want to?  A good number of the
features of the 2.6 kernel have been backported to SUSE's SLES8 kernel.  I
don't think you would buy yourself much by going to 2.6, except a fair
amount of headaches.

I understand 2.6 supports 64 bit.

Also, why would you be so anxious to invalidate any support agreement you
might have with SUSE?

I understand that $10K buys only email support and that too only for
instlallation.
