We're attempting to setup hipersockets between our z/OS LPAR and Redhat 7.2 Linux 
LPAR. Before setting up the hipersocket, I issues 'ifconfig' and noticed duplicate 
entries for device 'eth1', I ignored it because our system has been working fine for 
several months. But, after installing the hipersocket (as hsi3) I noticed it too had a 
duplicate entry. The last work performed on our Linux networking parms, prior to the 
hipersocket work,  was to install VIPA (device dummy0) and switch our two OSA cards to 
Primary routers (from non-routers). I'm assuming one of these changes introduced this 
duplication.

Is there a logical explanation for what I'm seeing?
Should I be concerned about this anomaly, if so can anyone tell me what to look for?
