Larry, on this network, is all LINUX guest running under IFL or some
other Operating Systems (unix, window) and how is the Gateway setup.
in my Network I have 2 LINUX host(IFL) and the rest are intel
workstation on the same LAN.
I am assuming that you are not able to ping outside of this network.

I tried that and this is what I get
netstat -nr
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt
Iface
10.38.135.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 40 0 0
eth0
And I can Ping the Gateway
vmlinux:~ # ping -c 3 10.38.135.1
ping -c 3 10.38.135.1
PING 10.38.135.1 (10.38.135.1): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 10.38.135.38: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=0.639 ms
64 bytes from 10.38.135.38: icmp_seq=1 ttl=255 time=0.750 ms
64 bytes from 10.38.135.38: icmp_seq=2 ttl=255 time=0.745 ms
--- 10.38.135.1 ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.639/0.711/0.750 ms
But when I try to define the default gateway I get this.
vmlinux:~ # route add default gw 10.38.135.1
route add default gw 10.38.135.1
SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable
This is where it stands at this point.

Or, he could just fix the obviously bad default gateway statement and be
done with it.

Can you ping the Router? You should do a traceroute. Most likely the new IP
address needs to be accepted by other router(s).

I can get out to other devices on the 10.38.135 subnet, when I ping a
device
on the subnet all is ok.
When I try to ping anything outside the subnet is when I see the problem of
unreachable network.

I have messed this one up good
After migrating to another network and changing the IP addresses I have
messed up the routing tables of our SUSE system
Here is some output from this confused system. Any Help would be
