You didn't give it the name of a "share" to use, just the name of the server
where the share would be located: //dsk019.bax.baxworld.com/sharename

Subject: smbmount from linux to access windows files

For the first time I am trying smbmount with the following command:

smbmount  /var/dsk019 //dsk019.bax.baxworld.com/  -o
username=auser,password=apassword,netbiosname=dsk019,uid=auser,ip=187.23.110
.189
ro

but get the message "Could not resolve mount point
//dsk019.ba.baxworld.com/"

I read the manpage but there are no examples. The syntax is "smbmount
service mount-point options. I dont know what the service here means....I
also tried the "mount -t smbfs " but that throws up the help info.

What am I doing wrong?
