Hi again My linux filesystem are: /dev/dasda / 2G /dev/dasdb /usr 2G /dev/homevg/homevg /home 8G /dev/mailvg/maillv /var/spool/mail 12G Meanwhile my VM admin add device /dev/dasdn to linux but when I want to mkfs it and use mkfs -t reiserfs /dev/dasdn it syas "mkfs.reiserfs: No such file or directory" He says that this dasd has been formated before and he only assign it to linux but I don't know how to assign it to /var . I want to seperate /var from / filesystem because now it is on / . I used mke2fs /dev/dasdn but system says: "mke2fs: No such device while trying to determine filesystem size" when I use :"cat /proc/dasd/devices" the result is: 053d(none) at ( 94: 44) is dasdl:unknown 053f(none) at ( 94: 48) is dasdm:unknown 0800(none) at ( 94: 52) is dasdn:unknown
Please guide me how to use these devices for increasing / file system or move /var/ to new dasd or only increase the / filesystem. regarding -- Sophia
