There is a need to directly access OS/390 datasets from Linux partition.

It seems that from USS, it is possible to symlink OS/390 datasets to USS
directory/file using BXPCOPY callable service and from batch. From there I
could use Samba or NFS for access from Linux. Would this be a good idea?

Is there a way to define a pipe from OS/390 directly to Linux LPAR? This
allow synchronous processing.

Socket interface would be good but a little clumsy to implement from the
OS/390 side.

We have a CICS transaction that does LU6.2 handshake with US Customs that I
need to redirect to the Linux partition, that is running Websphere MQ.

I might have already mentioned this earlier. So please bear with me.

I would like to explore the possibilities. I am looking for an elegant and
yet robust solution. Ideas welcome.

Thanks
