Adding it to /etc/fstab:
/dev/dasdx       swap        swap        defaults   0   0

then swapon -a.

On SLES 8 we added more swap space on the fly by doing the needed mkswap and
swapon commands.  But it seems that the new swap space isn't being used:

usilws80q:~ # swapon -s
