I just had an interesting (?) problem on my SuSE 7-beta (64-bit) Linux system. I was ftp'ing a data set from our z/OS system and filled up the home filesystem. Instead of any error message or stopping, the ftp just "hung around". As if it were still doing the download. Note that I am not UID=0 or anything special.
