I'm even more obscure when I try to be brief... What I meant to say is that I don't expect people will want to increase the extent of their minidisk to grow the partition (and thus have the need to resize the filesystem along with that). Especially now that the dasdfmt program lost the option to format a range of cylinders, it would be something I don't do when someone is waiting for me (only only when they stick a sharp object in me). With LVM it is more common to have the need to extend the filesystem. And I already learned now you can indeed do both ext2 and ReiserFS online.
