Jim,

In the z/VM 5.1 General Information manual on page 9, I found this
statement:

"z/VM 5.1.0 supports SCSI FCP disk logical units (SCSI disks) for both
system and guest use. SCSI disks supported are those within an IBM
TotalStorage(r) Enterprise Storage Server(r) (ESS) when it is connected to a
fibre-channel (FC) fabric by zSeries FCP channels."

Is the SCSI support being restricted to ESS an restriction due to z/VM doing
a SCSI Inquiry and examining the returned identity, and refusing to use
anything other than ESS, or is it simply a testing/support issue? Will
there be a certification process for other vendor's SCSI disk?
