Hi, I am interested to know the kind of throughput people are getting out of standard OSA-2 (100mb) ethernet using linux/390 and say FTP.
I am seeing a transfer rate of about 2 Mbytes/sec on an MP3000-H50 ethernet card (not an OSA-2 but 100Mb/s) on a large file (over 60 megabytes). The same file sent to an Intel PC gets about 6 Mbytes/sec transfer rate. I understand that I will not get the same performance from the MP3000 ethernet cards but is this normal? How does this compare to a real OSA-2. Thanks in advance.
