Hi Hugo,

You should logon with user operator (vm system console). The following
command may not work on maint because of missing option DEVMAINT in the user
directory, but on operator it should work.

Enter the following commands

 link maint 191 444 rr
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 11:22:51
 q mdisk 444 loc
11:22:59 TargetID Tdev OwnerID Odev Dtype Vol-ID Rdev StartLoc
Size
11:22:59 OPERATOR 0444 MAINT 0191 3390 440RES 0440 653 175
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 11:22:59

Now the system tells you where the maint 191 is located. Now you only have
to restore from your DDR backup the cylinder portion of maint 191. In my
case it is the 440RES from cyl 653 to 827 (175 cylinders).

Logon to maint

Attach a tape as 181 to yourself and mount the ddr backup
ATT tapeadr MAINT 181

start the ddr program
DDR

and enter following parameters

sysprint cons
in 181 tape
out 191 dasd
RESTORE firstcyl TO lastcyl REORDER 0
in my example it would be RESTORE 653 TO 827 REORDER 0

You will be asked several times to confirm whar you are doing, but this is
selfexplenatory, I think.

After that you will have your maint 191 back. Hopefully, the backup is
actual so that your directory entries are complete.

If you have any further questions just drop me a note.

Regards

Franz Josef
