How much real memory do you have?  512MB for your guests is probably
grossly too much, and is causing paging problems with VM.  Try something
like 64-96MB if you're not running anything big.  And 2GB of swap is
also vast overkill.  Keep it if you want and no one else needs that
DASD, but put some smaller, higher-priority swap devices (say, 100MB) in
VDISK for the guests.
