Additional info for my problem. This is /proc/scsi/zfcp/devno0x1000/status
.
Where would the 'Adapter Status' field be documented? I see X'64' there.
Thanks,

Subject: zFCP Problem
All,
I'm running SuSE 8.1 under z/VM 4.4 on a z800.
I'm trying to attach to some SCSI disk via zFCP. I've tried both a McData
4500 and a Brocade 3200 switch. I've checked the GBIC's and the cables, and
all are good.
When I vary the FCP chpid online, I can see the transmit lights on the port
on the FICON card in the z800 flash yellow a few times, then they go green
blinking, which is the usual status when there is no device plugged in to
the port. The CHPID and the FCP devices all come online and look fine from
VM.
When I load the zFCP driver, I see these messages:
debug: zfcp_req0x1000: new level 3
debug: zfcp_erp0x1000: new level 6

Obviously, the part about ERP waiting for the adapter to recover itself is
not good. I looked at the driver a little, and this is definitely a
situation where it thinks the card is not responding properly.
The /proc/scsi/zfcp structure looks good. The usual directories and status
files are built properly when the driver is loaded. There is lots of
information in there, but where would I start troubleshooting? Are there
any specific 'magic fields' that might contain codes that would help in
diagnosing this?
My gut feel is that the FCP/FICON card is not logging in to the switch
properly, but I don't see any helpful status from the switch software.
Anyone with any ideas?
Thanks,
Scott Ledbetter
