This is the bi-annual call for session chairs for the upcoming SHARE
conference. If you have never heard of SHARE, it is a "user group"
type of organization made up of companies with an interest in IBM technology.
(See http://www.share.org ) There are two major conferences a year, one
in the winter and one in the summer. The next one takes place in the Big
Apple (NYC) Aug. 15-20.

SHARE is primarily a volunteer organization. One of the most active programs
has been the Linux and VM Program, headed by our esteemed leader, Marty
Zimelis. The group has put together a really great program of training and
information on Linux and/or VM for this conference. The schedule of sessions
is now available on the web site, so check it out.

All of us working to create and present the L&VM Program are volunteers.
We do the organizing, recruiting of speakers and actually do a lot of the
presentations too. One thing we try to do is encourage other people to
help out too. So, if you have been to SHARE a couple of times and wondered
how you could join in the fun, I have a great opportunity for you!

Become a session chair person!!!! It's not hard and the job only lasts for
about 1 hour. A chair person simply makes sure that the session starts and
finishes on time, that all attendees get a hand out and that the speaker
has all that she/he needs to do the presentation. Even if you have never
attended SHARE before, it's no problem. We'll show you the ropes and make
you an expert chair person in no time. Even better, all NEW volunteers will
get their very own picture of my three feline roommates. (Hey, if you
volunteer for all the sessions, you can HAVE one of my cats...%-)....Gee,
I hope they haven't learned how to turn on the computer and read email yet...)

So, if you are already coming to SHARE and plan on attending sessions in
the Linux and VM Program, please sign up to chair a few. Its a great way
to participate and guarentees you a great seat.

I'll include the current list of available sessions at the end of this note.
Please see the SHARE web site for more detailed information on each session,
as I can't fit speakers, etc. in one note.

If you have any questions, please drop me a note off-list.
