Just a guess but you probably are getting insecure port messages on linux
guest (/var/log/messages)

if so try changing your exports file to include insecure option:

i.e.
/tmp/mnt/testnfs        *(ro,insecure,root_squash,sync)

Has to do with aix using ports < 1024...  We didn't have a need for a
permanent mount so this worked fine for us, there is probably a different
way if you need to have a more "secure" connection.
