Hello,

we have zLinux running on VM as SAP R/3 app servers. One 2G Vsize
(production) and 5 1G Vsize (test/QA) machines in an 10G lpar. I noticed
that our production machine tends to try to pull all it's storage below
the bar. While the effect is not really bad, it looks like a thrashing
scenario to me. Pages are cycled between main >2G, Xstor and main <2G
all the time. Does anyone have an idea why this would be happening? Can
this all be I/O related? I can t believe that as most I/O here is to
the outside world via a Vswitch and via Hipersockets to DB2/zOS in
another lpar.

Best regards,
Pieter Harder
