The SWAPGEN EXEC from Sine Nomine will do a nice job of writing a swap signature to it before you IPL your guest. Then, you just need to make sure that the DASD DIAG driver is built into your kernel, or load it as a module. Then, you should be able to just put an entry into /etc/fstab for it, like you would for a "real" swap disk/partition.
Instructions for setting up an FBA VDISK (which is slower than an DIAG one) can be found at http://linuxvm.org/Info/HOWTOs/vdiskswp.html Mark Post -----Original Message----- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of James Melin Sent: Wednesday, July 28, 2004 3:49 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Vdisk for swap I have it defined to my guest..... how do I set it up in linux? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
