In itself a good an logical decision. There is one thing IBM (Tivoli) failed to do: provide the same hardware support for TSM on Linux as TSM on VM has. In particular when a Ficon based 3494/3590 is used for TSM major $$$ have to be spent to move to FCP. And the result cannot easily be shared with other Ficon based systems, again wasting major $$$ for customers. This may be good thinking from an IBM standpoint, but definitely not from a customer standpoint.
