I'm sure this is a stupid question, but if you "ls" the directories the
error panel refers to or "cat" the files in question, are they there?
It's not just that you've mounted the wrong CD-ROM is it? Clearly
something is mounted and has 593MB of data on it, but maybe it's simply
the wrong CD?

SLES 8, or something else?

Were you ever prompted for the information about how you're
connected to the 'Net or what the installation source media
was? If so, what did you say?

Were there any warnings or error messages before that point?
