None of us here are telepathic (I'm sure someone will have already
corrected me if I am wrong).  Without knowing at what point the kernel
paniced and what it was doing when it paniced it's pretty much
impossible to guess what went wrong.  There should be something on the
console before it goes belly-up.

Can you still IPL it under VM, or does that not work anymore?
