Hello

I want connect an external disk to a Linux Advanced server 2.1 via a

Is there any person that help me to accomplish that in Open System

Is there any link or group that i ask my question from that? if there

I read about ICKDSF bootstrap job at the website pucc.princeton.edu
It seems the site no more exists.
Any other site from where I can see the job

With regards,

Seyeed:
I googled for Linux+fibre+channel and selected this =>
http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=4499

Perhaps you may find some useful info and directions to find a suitable
driver.

Good luck!

Unfortunately, the /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 script (and rc.inet1.conf file) expect
that all network interfaces are ethx names. I talked to Patrick Volkerding
about it, and he said he'd been down that road before with IBM and trx
devices, but would be willing to listen to any constructive suggestions I
might have. I'm out of town until next week (at SHARE), so I won't have
time in the meantime to look at it.

What you can do until I get a permanent fix is to add
alias ctc0 ctc
to /etc/modules.conf, and (after backing it up), modify /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1
to do an ifconfig and route add for the CTC device. Once I get either a
mainframe-specific script in place, or a more generalized version, I'll let
you know.

You've got another person running Slack/390! I running under Hercules.

I ran into the same situation as Tobias with the zipl stuff. I copied zipl
and zipl.conf from my Tao/390 system and ran it and Slack/390 IPL'ed fine.

My ctc0 isn't initializing automatically. I suspect I need to do some
updating in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1. I am able to run ifconfig and route to get
the ctc going.

Tobias,

Thanks for the report. I just wanted to caution you that if you ever =
have
more than one OSA interface on your machine that you won't want to let
things default. You should really specify which device numbers belong =
to
which interface in /etc/chandev.conf.

When I get the zipl stuff modified in the initrd, I'll let you know, in =
case
you want to test some more.

Hi list,

i did it. Slack/390 is up and running.

Here the two problems i ran in:

1.) Disabled Wait after IPL
01: CP IPL 201
01: HCPGIR450W CP entered; disabled wait PSW 000A0000 0000000F

Check that s390-tools are installed and zipl was performed before you =
re-IPL
your linux.

2.) network unreachable
INIT: Entering runlevel: 3
Going multiuser...
=AC9;15|SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable
Starting sysklogd daemons: /usr/sbin/syslogd /usr/sbin/klogd -c 3 -x
Starting OpenSSH SSH daemon: /usr/sbin/sshd
Updating shared library links: /sbin/ldconfig

An update to /etc/modules.conf corrects the error:
echo "alias eth0 qeth" >> /etc/modules.conf

Automatic detection of qeth works fine.

Special thanks go to Mark.

Regards,

Tobias Doerkes
