We also experienced the same behavior on our Red Hat images until we upgraded the kernel to > 2.4.21 (for RH 7.2, you'll have to roll your own kernel). The guestlan problems that we were experiencing were also exacerbated by a kernel bug, although I can't recall the details of it. For temporary relief of the ADP symptom, stop the network, remove the qeth and qdio modules and then restart the network (service network stop; rmmod qdio qeth; service network start). This will only provide short term help, however. The long term solution could involve generating your own kernel, but that is not always a simple task given the age of the software that constitutes RH 7.2. It's probably simpler to switch to a distro that is still maintained. If cost is a problem, Debian is freely available. -- Michael Lambert <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
