I have verified that I can ftp and read from the server. I'm unware of a readme that instructs you to merge all CDs into a single directory. The release notes indicate that you copy CD1 to sles9-s390/CD1 CD2 to core-9/CD1 CD3 to core-9/CD2 CD4 to core-9/CD3 CD5 to core-9/CD4 CD6 to core-9/CD5 sym link boot to sles9-s390/CD1/boot sym link contet to sles9-s390/CD1/content sym link control.xml to sles9-s390/CD1/control.xml sym link medai.1 to sles9-s390/CD1/media.1 make dir yast echo some stuff to yast/order echo some stuff to yast/instorder
I have done all this to noavail

I have downloaded the sles9-s390 ISO images form novell, followed the release notes for the install structure, and am attempting an VNC/FTP install. The FTP server is an intel SuSE 9.0 Pro. FTP server is vsftp which allows local users (no chroot jail). I am able to select the DASD However the software selection is empty. I get a media error message. I must be doing something stupid as I don't see where anyone else is having this problem Where might I be going wrong ?
Does the README file instruct you to merge the contents of the CDs into a single directory? You did that? If you ftp to your server from some other system to your server can you get there? Does the local userid that you use for the install have read access to all files?
