A suggestion to help with future occurances of this single point of knowledge problem. Get to know the other VMers/Linuxers in your area of Minnesota (or the midwest) and arrange to use each other as temporary consultants for problems, illnesses, sudden job changes, disaster recovery. Being on a federal contract with some security concerns, we don't have any formal arrangements in place, but my federal boss does have a list of candidates that I prepared for the day that big Mack truck finds me. I have this feeling that if I prepared that list, Murphy would never aim for me once he climbed into his truck.
