I need to revive a thread from late August of this year (http://www2.marist.edu/htbin/wlvtype?LINUX-VM.48926).
Rob, you stated: "I just checked that the tcpdump that comes with SuSE SLES8 works out-of-the-box for qeth. There is no wrapper thing included, so I believe this was indeed modified to match the missing link header." If that's the case, what am I doing wrong? ldap:~ # tcpdump -i hsi0 tcp port 636 tcpdump: listening on hsi0 0 packets received by filter 0 packets dropped by kernel >From another server, I'm initiating a telnet session to port 636 on this server. Shouldn't that traffic show up? I've got active connections open on this port as well. ldap1:~ # netstat -na | grep 636 tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:636 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 172.26.31.11:636 172.26.31.12:36684 ESTABLISHED tcp 1 0 172.26.31.11:37897 172.26.31.12:636 CLOSE_WAIT If I run tcpdump with no parameters, it spits out tons of traffic.
