first of all: I'm a technician, not a sales person and thus I do not
have all information on the scope and prerequisites of support
contracts. But since this is a chance to answer some frequently asked
questions I'll try to explain some few aspects:

Granted, it is a bit tricky to find information on this topic currently,
as not all tools have been integrated yet.

(Premium) support contracts for SUSE LINUX products are sold by
Novell now, some information is available from
http://support.novell.com/linux/

If you buy SLES, you basicly buy SUSE LINUX Maintenance Program for a
certain period of time. This covers basic installation support as well
as provision of, notfication about and installation support for bug and
security fix update packages. To utilize these services you need to go
to http://portal.suse.com, create an account an register the 14 digit
registration code which comes with the media kit. More information
on the SUSE LINUX Maintenance Program is available from
http://www.novell.com/products/linuxenterpriseserver/maintenance.html

But I guess a Novell representative in your area can explain it
much better than me. Just give her or him a call.
