With a virtual NIC, the presence of a portname is at the discretion of the
guest. Since the virtual NIC is not shared (unless you specify DEVICES >
3 and are using z/OS or a 2nd level VM system), the portname has no
meaning.

It is not propagated to the real OSA and need not match any other portname
used on the same VSWITCH or Guest LAN.
