You're pointing into an open gap in software management here. Although I
found that many system
programmers do have creative soloutoins for this one (really folks, I was
impressed by the skills of our users)
I believe that a sophisticated soloution is still missing. My favorite
workaround is the following:
Do access the shared stuff r+w on one machine and install the software,
then use rpm -i --force on the other
systems. This causes to rpm writing the parts on the wrieable non-shared
filesystem while not aborting
becuase of write errors on the read-only shared parts.
We aim at solving this in the future...
