Neale, I did a quick grep of the mailing list archives, and got a hit. According to Andy Cathrow on 2 Apr 2002 14:17:24, "The lcs module appears to load normally - apart from the multicast error (that the documentation says to ignore)". So, I would say that the message given is not the cause of any problems getting to the gateway.
