I installed cpint via YaST (v2.1) instread of the v2.2 available for
download :-(.

Compiled and tested via hcp.c. Works greate. I could do 'q dasd'.

I want to use perl to send cp commands. But cpint is implemented as a
device.

I tried
        open (CPO,">/dev/cpcmd")
and tried printing to it.

Looks like it has to be done via "fcntl" and I have not done this before.

The alternative is to change hcp.c to accept commands via STDIN. Hmmm, I
am a bit lazy, an essential attribute of a perl hacker.

Does anyone have a perl example?

TIA
