Well ... I don't remember responding about OS/2,
but I *did* use the beta which could support it.
I think they pulled the pin because of the work required
to support the areas of x86 virtualization OS/2 steps on.
(This is NOT an S/390 instruction set.  The I/O space is
not uniform.  Hypervisors get no performance boost from the HW.)

Definition of a hypervisor:
Runs the guest operating system(s) natively
until there is an exception.   Think  "demand paged virtual memory".
THEREFORE,  Mac VirtualPC was never a hypervisor.   Doesn't mean
there was anything wrong with it,  just that it was/is an EMULATOR,
and sometimes it is important to know the difference.

I really would like to see a comprehensive list
of known emulators and hypervisors.  <plug type=shameless>
