While I was trying to do an install of Suse 9.0, some of the messages that came up were:
RAMDISK driver initialized: 16 RAM disks of 65536K size 1024 blocksize loop: loaded (max 8 devices) md: md driver 0.90.0 MAX_MD_DEVS=256, MD_SB_DISKS=27 Channel measurement facility using basic format (autodetected) Just kind of wondering if the MD_SB-DISKS=27 might be the setting that may be your limiting factor.
