Pure speculation on my part, but in the near term, this possible 2005 CICS for Linux offering will likely be for x86 only, along the lines of the current IBM "CICS for Windows" offering. Here's an overview:
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/htp/cics/windows/overview.html The focus will probably be on application development, targeted for the mainfame (meaning CICS TS for z/OS or VSE/ESA), as described in one of the IBM bullet points from the above link: Application development services CICS TS for Windows V5.0 supports application programs written in COBOL, C, C++ or PL/I.
