Yes, it is. If you have one IFL or standard CP in the LPAR where RHEL3 is running (whether using z/VM or not), then you pay for one subscription. If you have two IFLs or standard CPs, you pay for two subscriptions, etc.

Regan, K8MTR Sent: Tuesday, December 21, 2004 1:35 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Red Hat Ent. Linux AS for zSeries Licensing Question The Red Hat web site <http://www.redhat.com/software/rhel/purchase/index.html> says that when you purchase a zSeries subscription, it includes the ability to run and support up to 25 instances/images per subscription, per engine. What is Red Hat's definition of an 'engine' here, is it the same as IBM's? Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
