I'm sorry, Max, but I don't understand your post. You say that someone stopped the z/OS TCP/IP stack and that "your" address (what? Linux?) became unreachable? You also say z/OS became unreachable, but I would expect that since you brought down the IP stack. Are you using z/VM? Are z/OS and Linux both configured to use VLANs? Resetting an OSA does not require POR. You must vary the chpid offline to ALL LPARs on which it is configured (whether it is being used or not), then vary it back online. That will cause the card to reset. Without knowing more about your *intended* configuration, and information about your *current* configuration, I can't help you. Sorry.
