Ok installing Suse 9.0 has been, still is, may always be, a bear.

SMB installs is the best/easiest from this clients perspective.

So, while I have some time to sit back and wait for the return of my
disk drives, it is time to dot the 't's and cross the 'i's<G>.

When SMB seemed to be a total no-go, I tried NFS. Had some problems,
but before I could really address them, I lost the drives I was using to
have a Suse 8.0 NFS server for month end/year end production stuff.
Damn production stuff<G>.

Also tried an FTP install with Suse 8.0, but again, had some problems
that I didn't have a chance to really look at, before loosing the disk
drives to production. I'm keeping away from Windows and FTP serving.

Soooo, back to the nitty gritty.. This is for the S390 version not the
64 bit z/Series version.

1. The source for my CDs were the evaluation CDs from the Novell
website. Can anyone tell me that these evaluation CDs are good images?
Are there any other vender source for CDs, like real CDs being shipped
to you?

2. When I download the 6th CD, which is Core9 CD5, I only get
19,905KB. The website shows that this CD should be 633.8MB. I've
downloaded via Windows/2000, Windows/XP, Suse 7.3 and Suse 8.0 (all on
intel platforms), with the same result. MD5SUM doesn't validate these
images. Doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling that any of these
images shouldn't be suspect. Has anyone got an image that is the stated
633.8 MBs? Where did you get it?

3. Is there a MD5SUM for Windows? Since I really need to be SMB (for
now). I've only downloaded to each of the 4 platforms listed. On the
Suse platforms, the iso images (other than CD6) validated. But I don't
know if the images that I'm using, from Windows, are valid images.
Perhaps part of my problem.

Thanks
