The workunit is NOT done.
Indications:
(a) The destination address is located on volume $$$$$$.
(b) Some of the self-generated "commands" within the work unit have
a status of "NTRIED" or "Not Tried", as oposed to those that are
"DONE".
It appears that the DATAMOVE macine is working on the request.
You can use a DIRM DATAMOVE DISPLAY ERRLOG command to determine if
DATAMOVE is waiting for work (responds to your DISPLAY request) or
busy (no response). When you finally get a response, your work unit
may be listed (unable to continue processing until some problem is
resolved) or not listed (completed or failed).
The $$$$$$ volume does not need to physically exist, it is just a place
where DirMaint and DFSMS can "park" MDISK addresses temporarily not used.
This allows directory updates to those definitions very quickly using
the RMDISK function of diagnose x'84' rather than the slower use of
DIRECTXA. This technique has been used for quite a few years (before
3390s existed?), and both DFSMS and DIRMAINT have hardcoded device type
3380 for allocations on volume $$$$$$.
