Hallo list,

I am a experienced in zVM but a novice in LINUX.

We are running zVM in a lpar with 2 real IFLs. The first test machine has 1
virtual processor and seems to run fine. I read the advise to define the same
number of virtual processors as real were available. So I started to define a
LINUX machine with 2 virtual processors. When I take a look at the (wirtual)
processor consumption I see the following result:

SEND CP TESTLX03 IND USER
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 15:57:41

TESTLX03: IPLSYS=DEV 0200 DEVNUM=00019

TESTLX03:
TESTLX03: USERID=PRODLX03 MACH=ESA STOR=1536M VIRT=V XSTORE=NONE
TESTLX03: IPLSYS=DEV NONE DEVNUM=00019
TESTLX03: PAGES: RES=00392073 WS=00000000 LOCK=00000139 RESVD=00000000
TESTLX03: NPREF=00000000 PREF=00000000 READS=00000001 WRITES=00000001
TESTLX03: CPU 02: CTIME=39:05 VTIME=002:08 TTIME=003:03 IO=009565
TESTLX03: RDR=000000 PRT=000000 PCH=000000

My question is: Why is the second CPU nearly IDLE ?
Is there any more setup (on linux) to do ?

TIA.
Leonard
