Just to continue to belabor the point:

Linux IS an operating system. There are no other operating system's Linux,
because Linux, in and of itself, is an operating system. It doesn't run under
Unix, USS, z/OS, Windows, AIX, or any other operating system you can think of,
... Except that it does run under z/VM, Hercules, and VMWare, because those
systems are designed for running operating systems.

Now, Linux DOES run on various HARDWARE platforms. zSeries, iSeries, pSeries,
Intel and many (Many) others. But in all cases, Linux is not dependant on any
other operating system that could also possibly reside there.

So... There is no z/OS Linux. There's just Linux.

Actually, I probably phrased my question wrong.

What I was looking for is why choose Zseries Linux over ANY OTHER
operating system's Linux ?
