I am having some unusual results migrating my zVM network connection from a
100m LCS to a GigE qdio. I am running zVM 4.4 and SUSE SLES8 and I am trying to
define an OSA-Express GigE port to zVM. This port would then pass thru from zVM
TCP/IP to zVM Linux guest lans. I have attached my 3 qdio devides and defined
the qdioethernet device and link. The device activates to zVM and I can ping
the Cicso 3550 switch from zVM and also ping zVM from the switch. When I try
pinging from a zVM Linux system behind VM TCP/IP I do not get a response. Also
when I try pinging a guest lan host from the switch I do not get any response.
The Cisco switch logs that it receives the ping request from a guest lan host
and that it has replied but I do not get any response on linux and if I NETSTAT
DEV on zVM the packets received counter does not increment. Anyone seen this
before? Anyone have any ideas what I may need to fix this gigabit ethernet
interface?
THanks,
