I do not know, I answered the NFS install directory with the following: /usr/local/share/sles9-s390/sles9root

This is not consistent with my experience -- mine has the / on the first word. Could it be dependent on how you answer the "install directory" prompt? The iso images were created directly from the CDs and had checked out fine. The magic combination was the following: sles9/CD1 /sles9/CD1 core9/CD1 /core9/CD1 Note the no leading "/" for the first entry but the leading "/" for the second entry. This install process is started. I have my fingers crossed. In the future, I wish Novell simplifies this process for the z/Series. Did you run md5sum on all of them? Getting back to my mksles9root script, I wend back and found the only documentation on this in /sles9/CD1/docu/RELEASE-NOTES.en.html: ... echo "/sles9/CD1 /sles9/CD1\n/core9/CD1 /core9/CD1" > yast/instorder echo "/sles9/CD1 /sles9/CD1\n/core9/CD1 /core9/CD1" > yast/order ... (I guess these are the commands missing the -e flag) So I'll fix the script to put one space and also a leading slash in the second field. At this point it is looking like the order and instorder files are not your problem. Hope this helps.
