I've just placed a copy of our Linux tape mount DVM and Linux client on
sinenomine.net for download. This is a minimialist version of a more
sophisticated (and commercially supported) offering that allows a Linux
guest to cooperate with a VM-based tape management system (including all
the major vendor's offerings plus the built-in VM tape support) and use
both the VM and Linux tools to do reasonable tape management.

This version includes only the support for the VM native tape functions;
a commercial-quality supported version with lots of other neat features
and full documentation is available for a fee. Please contact me
off-list if you're interested in that version.

You can download the code from:

http://www.sinenomine.net/vm/tapemount

The file is a compressed tar archive meant to be unpacked on a Linux
system.

Bugs, questions and comments should be sent to deb390 (at)
sinenomine.net.

Enjoy!
