The NICDEF directory statement enables you to specify the low-order 3
bytes of the MAC address.  The VMLAN MACPREFIX statement in SYSTEM CONFIG
lets you specify the high-order 3 bytes.  In z/VM 5.1 you can even specify
the range from which CP will assign dynamic vMACs.
