AH! From what I understand, "sftp" on z/OS is ported directly from the
OpenSSH stuff. That is, it is 100% pure UNIX. UNIX does not have RDWs
and so the "sftp" server on MVS doesn't understand it.

If he must use "sftp" to get the data, what I'd suggest is a "two step".

1) Unload to an MVS dataset as done at present.
2) On z/OS, "ftp" to "127.0.0.1" and put the data as a file on an HFS.
Use the SITE RDW to do this transfer. There is no security issue because
nothing "hits the wire".
3) "sftp" from the HFS file to the receiving host.

I am fairly certain that attempting to use "sftp" from the MVS dataset
will never work, if RDWs must be transferred. Two different ftp servers
entirely.
