The Virtual machine "linux002" has been loaded and will (to an extent) run. However, during the boot cycle, the virtual NIC (qeth0) begins to initialize, then shuts itself down. The rest of the boot cycle completes, and the expected login prompt comes up within the VM / 5270 terminal session. There is no network / SSH / VNC connectivity due to the NIC shutdown; I've checked the network configuration files (/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-qeth...), everything is as it should be (IP, netmask, broadcast address, etc). I am building a "stripped down" base system; it'spossible I'm leaving out some package necessary for the NIC to function properly. Any ideas on why this is happening or do I just need to do a "full" build and start over? Ila Z.
